The social worker's role in the multidisciplinary hospice team

The thesis deals with the position of a social worker in a multidisciplinary hospice team, and describes how the activity of a social worker in a hospice is unique, and how his work intersects with the activities of other members of the multidisciplinary hospice team. To clarify the assigned topic, palliative and hospice care and their forms are first described. It also describes social work in the hospice, which deals with the dying, family members and survivors, clarifies the role of a social worker in the hospice. The next part of the work focuses on multidisciplinary cooperation in the hospice. The theoretical knowledge presented in this work is supplemented by a particular example of teamwork of the home hospice of St. Markéta in Strakonice and the role of a social worker in it.
Pastoral service to ill and dying. The Logotherapy contribution to the poimen

In my thesis, I focused on the topic of poimenic in the care of seriously ill and dying in biblical context and specialized care, with respect to the tradition of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, which includes the concept of spiritual care and theme of sacraments. I described the spiritual needs of the sick and dying, the means of this care for them, which are: interview, prayer, sacraments, and an accompanying person. With regard to the target group of the topic of my thesis, I deal with psychotherapeutic approach of logotherapy: the context of its establishment, the importance of the author, by the very meaning of the term and the idea of the values of V. E. Frankl, the topic of freedom and responsibility, tragic triad and techniques of this psychotherapeutic school. In conclusion, I mention the benefits of logotherapy in the pastoral care of the seriously ill and dying.My thesis shows the importance of poimenic and logotherapy in the service of seriously ill and dying. Logotherapy enables the patients to understand their life story in a deeper way. It can also serve to an accompanying person, in his/her service, his/her life and understanding of the seriously ill and dying, to whom he/she comes. The use of the Bible in pastoral work with ill people

The aim of this thesis titled "The use of the Bible in pastoral work with ill people" is to explore the ways how this fundamental book of Christianity can be used in pastoral work with ill people. In the first chapter, there are defined general pastoral care, its meaning and the care of ill people. Futhermore, the ill person as an object on which is this care focused, his needs and some specifics of conversation with such a person and also a person accompanying the ill as the one who provides the care. The second chapter deals with the pastoral theme in the Bible. In the times of the Old Testament the shepherd was one of the most inferior professions. Nevertheless, it is given as an example for the behavior of the spiritual leader to the people of whom he cares about. In some books of the Bible there is described how a shepherd should behave to his flock. In the New Testament then it is spoken of Jesus Christ as the good shepherd who takes care of his sheep, which represent individuals in the church. The chapter provides some inspirations in Christ's behavior for today's pastoral work with ill people. Accompanying of Dying People in Retirements Homes Including the Elements of Hospice Care

The thesis deals with accompanying of dying people in retirements homes including the elements of hospice care. First, the difference between mission of retirements homes and hospices is described. Based on theoretical pieces of knowledge from literature, there are defined: the dying, the reaction of a dying man to the message about his health state, needs of a dying man, care for the family of a dying man, engagement of a multidisciplinal team, death and care for surviving relatives. In the second half, the research on internal rules is described. The research is aimed at findings, if and how the single retirements homes treat the topic of accompanying of dying people in their internal rules. Last chapter results from the previous and offers the plan for creating the internal rules for accompanying of dying people.
